Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis is seeking players for the following positions

Principal Cello
Principal Bassoon
Section strings
Concert Master (see information at the bottom of page)

Section Strings: 3-5 minute solo of your choice, sight reading
Candidates should play a short solo piece and Cello and Bassoon candidates should prepare the following exceprts.

The Concert Master position will be open beginning in 2012. Those interested in auditioning for the Concert Master position should submit a letter with resume via email to RachelHest@gmail.com by November 1, 2011. Candidates will be selected to play a session of rehearsals and performance with the orchestra.

Rehearsals for Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis are on Tuesday nights from September through May with time off in December and occasionally directly after concerts.

Most rehearsals take place at Normandale Lutheran church in Edina. Concert dates for the coming year are November 6, December 11, February 12, and May 13.

Dress rehearsals are the Saturday prior to the concert at the concert location. Concert Locations are (Nov., February, May) at Wayzata Community Church and (Dec.) Normandale Lutheran Church.

The Civic Orchestra is a member and community supported orchestra and each member pays dues of $120 per year. If this presents a financial hardship, accommodations for work-in-kind may be arranged.
